AEF Summer Fellows 2004
AEF selected five outstanding law students to receive AEF Fellowships in 2004. The 2004 AEF Fellowships, totaling approximately $17,000, support the students’ summer internships in public interest law.
The prestigious 2004 Anheuser-Busch Norman Y. Mineta Fellowship
was awarded to Nicole Tuchinda, who is a law student at The George Washington University Law School and a medical student at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Ms. Tuchinda will work for the Children’s Law Center in Washington, D.C. providing legal services to at-risk children.AEF awarded a Fellowship to Synta Keeling, a student at American University, Washington College of Law, for her work with the Employment Rights Project at Casa de Maryland, Inc. and the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division in Washington, D.C.
John Lee, a student at The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law, received an AEF Fellowship for his work with the Children’s Rights Council at their National Headquarters in Hyattsville, Maryland and the House of Ruth Domestic Violence Legal Clinic in Hyattsville, Maryland.
Amoun Sayaovong, a student at the University of Michigan Law School, received an AEF Fellowship for his work in the Washington, D.C. office of Hmong National Development, Inc., which is dedicated to helping Vietnamese refugees.
AEF also awarded a Fellowship to George Wu, a student at The George Washington University Law School, for his work with the National Asian Pacific American Legal Consortium in Washington, D.C.
Each of the 2004 AEF Fellows deserves recognition for their accomplishments in law school and in extracurricular pursuits, their dedication to public service, and their decision to spend their summer working to help the community.
